You Are a Diamond

Assalamualaykum wht,

One fine evening, a Korean guy came to my office when I was dealing with another person on the telephone. Suddenly I realized that the guy kept staring at me while I was talking on the telephone and I knew it was coming.

After I hung up, he said, "Why are you wearing the thing that covers your head?"

Usually, I answered that kinda questions using religion related material. However, that day, I decided to try a different approach by using logic and fact.

After giving brief introduction about myself and Islam, I said, "Well, you see...I believe that Muslim women are like diamonds. We can't display a precious diamond to everybody, we keep it in a secret place, and we only show it to the people that we trust, like our family, and our husband. We cover the diamond because it is so precious and it is so beautiful, and only the privileged ones are allowed to see it, right?"

The guy seemed to understand what I was saying, and I was pretty satisfied with my answer.

The next day, he came again, but with his Korean roommate. After a brief chitchat, his roommate said, "My friend here said that you are a diamond". Huhuhuhu....

Somehow, I am not quite sure if that guy understood me clearly.
Even though I meant it as an analogy, I would love it if it were really true :p
