Nisfu Sya'ban (Sya'ban the 15th) As-salaamu 'Alaykum, We are currently in the middle of Sha'aban, the month before Ramadan. There is a lot of virtue in spending the night in worship and observing fast the next day. Please see below: Reminder: (Helping each other in the way of Allah by reviving the Prophet's Sunna) Volume 3, Book 31, Number 190: Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Apostle used to fast till one would say that he would never stop fasting, and he would abandon fasting till one would say that he would never fast. I never saw Allah's Apostle fasting for a whole month except the month of Ramadan, and did not see him fasting in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban. (Bokhari) Volume 3, Book 31, Number 191: Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet never fasted in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban. He used to say, "Do those deeds which you can do easily, as Allah will not get tired (of giving rewards) till you get bored and tired (of performing religious deeds)." The most beloved prayer to the Prophet was the one that was done regularly (throughout the life) even if it were little. And whenever the Prophet offered a prayer he used to offer it regularly. (Sahih Muslim) Book 006, Number 2607: 'Imran b. Husain (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) having said to him or to someone else: Did you fast in the middle of Sha'ban? He said: No. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: If you did not observe fast, then you should observe fast for two days. (Sahih Muslim) Book 13, Number 2443: Narrated Qatadah Ibn Malhan al-Qaysi: The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to command us to fast the days of the white nights: thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of the month. He said: This is like keeping perpetual fast. (Sunan Abu-Dawud) posted by Hana' at 9/19/2005 06:13:00 AM |
